Preparing to launch Help Module Version 3.00.00 - an overview of this version

I have just finished testing the latest Help module version 3.00.00. Help 3.00.00 is almost identical in functionality from a user's perspective, however it has been converted to Web Application Project (WAP), ASP.NET 2.0, and DNN 4+. This means Help 3+ will not work on DNN 1+, 2+, or 3+.

Thanks to both Philip Beadle and Kusal Wijewantha for their hard work on this. Kusal, the newest member of the Help Project team, is a long time DNN developer who many of you will know from the ASP.net and DotNetNuke forums. It's been great having a third member in the team to bounce ideas off.

Help 3.00.00 does have one User enhancement - XML File Upload. Currently only users with upload rights the Root folder of the File Manager can Import an xml content file into the Tutorial Help module. This is because this is the only location files can be imported from. As an immediate solution to this problem, users with Edit Permissions to the Tutorial module can now upload an xml file from the module settings page. Security risk here is low I imagine as only xml files named Content.Help.Help.xml can be uploaded. I'm keen to hear any feedback on this idea via the Help Forum.

The XML File Upload feature has been created to enable me to upload my Online Help more frequently by simply importing the xml file. This will mean more regularly updated Online Help which I am excited to very soon be able to provide. Currently there are several hurdles in the way of providing this.

The module is now going through the module release process. Once it is cleared I will finally be able to update the Online Help.
